Our Programs
Pre-CanSkate
Pre-CanSkate is a learn to skate program for skaters. No prior experience is necessary, but the skater must be willing and able to go on the ice unassisted by a parent.
Participants must be 4 years old by December 31, 2024.
Children are taught basic skating fundamentals, with a focus on continuous movement and creative play. Skaters in this program work towards completing their Pre-CanSkate ribbon. Participants must have their own skates, a CSA approved hockey helmet and face mask, and gloves or mitts. Snow pants or waterproof pants are recommended.
CanSkate
CanSkate is a learn to skate program that teaches children, 4 years and older, the fundamentals of forward and backward skating, stopping, balance, turning, forward and backward cross-cuts etc. Beginner hockey and ringette players can also enhance their game by improving their skating skills with this program.
Participants must have their own skates, a CSA approved hockey helmet (a face cage is highly recommended) and gloves or mitts. Snow pants or waterproof pants are recommended.
StarSkate Junior (Advanced CanSkate)
The Advanced CanSkate (Junior StarSkate) program is for skaters working on their CanSkate Level 4 badges or higher.
StarSkate Intermediate
The Intermediate StarSkate program is for skaters working on their StarSkate Level 1 to 5.
At this level, coaching fees are extra and payable directly to coaches.
StarSkate Senior
The Senior StarSkate program is for skaters working on their StarSkate Level 6 and above.
At this level, coaching fees are extra and payable directly to coaches.
Depending on the number of registrants, the coaches may split the Senior sessions in 2 groups based on skills. More information will be provided as the number of skaters is confirmed.
