StarSkate
STARSkate is designed for skaters who have completed CanSkate Badge 6 and are ready to take the next step in their figure skating journey. The program welcomes skaters of all ages and provides opportunities to develop figure skating skills, whether their goal is to skate for fun, perform, compete, or continue to higher levels.
Through progressive and structured instruction, skaters develop skills in several areas of figure skating, including Skills, Freeskate, Ice Dance, and Artistic skating. STARSkate also provides a foundation for skaters interested in singles, pairs, ice dance, or synchronized skating.
Coaching and Training
STARSkate sessions are led by NCCP-certified Skate Canada coaches and may include group, semi-private and private coaching.
Coaching fees are not included in the registration price.
At this level, skaters are encouraged to skate at least 2-3 times per week, along with regular off-ice training.
STAR 1–5
The STAR 1–5 program introduces the fundamental elements of figure skating in a progressive and sequential way. Skaters work toward assessments in Skills, Freeskate, Dance, and Artistic, allowing them to progress at their own pace as they develop their abilities.
STAR 6–Gold
After completing STAR 1–5, skaters can progress to STAR 6–Gold, which introduces more advanced figure skating elements and provides opportunities for further assessment and achievement.
